I have to start this by saying: HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY! I couldn’t let this day go by without doing a Harry Potter tag. This was created by Kimberlyfaye Reads and BookNerd Betsy (can’t find a link to this blog). Let’s get to it!!

Accio- Summoning charm: An upcoming release you wish you could get your hands on right now

Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell I cannot wait for this!! This is the sequel to Carry On. It releases in September but my copy (this edition) doesn’t release until October. I wanted a match to my edition of Carry On. Plus I have matching bookmarks for each.

Alohomora- Unlocking charm: Favorite series starter

I loved this, and I just ordered Gemina and Obsidio through Amazon Prime so they should arrive tomorrow!

Cheering Charm- a book that gave you all the warm fuzzies

I couldn’t help but smile throughout this book and will definitely reread it over and over.

Aguamenti- Water Making Spell: a book that made you ugly cry

This was very close to making me ugly cry. I feel like the sequel will make hurt even worse and I’m only slightly prepared.

Expecto Patronum- Patronus Charm: Bookish hero or heroine you want around to protect you in real life

Agatha from The School for Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani (girl on bottom). This one is the latest in the series, and I NEED to find out what Agatha and Tedros will do after the conclusion of book 4.

Lumos- A book you intentionally spoiled for yourself

Does Harry Potter count? I mean I have seen the movies first, but that was years ago and the only one I remember is Prisoner of Azkaban because it’s the only one I’ve seen multiple times.

Imperio- A book you wish you could make everyone read because you loved it so much

The only book (besides the Twilight series) that I own more than one copy of. I absolutely love this book and I have no idea why. It’s not the best thing ever, but it’s my happy book 😊

Engorgio- Engorgement Charm: a book or series that you wish never ended

The Splintered series by A. G. Howard. I have a great idea for a spin-off series that I would love to see, but I can’t say more about it because it spoils something lol just know it’s killing me that I probably won’t ever get it 😫😫

Wingardium Leviosa- a book with an uplifting ending or message

I’m having a hard time thinking of one 🤔 Can someone recommend me one??

Obliviate- Memory Charm: A book you wish you could forget you ever read

The House is Night series. I only read books 1&2 and DNF book 3. It just got to be too much.

Anapneo- an author whose books always get you out of a slump

Soman Chainani. Being with Agatha, Tedros, Sophie, and the gang from The School for Good and Evil just makes me feel good and the books just suck me in. Makes me want to keep reading afterwards.

Jelly-Legs Jinx- A swoon-worthy hero or heroine

Morpheus, Morpheus, Morpheus. Jeb as well ❤️

Aresto Momentum- A book that caused you to stop doing all other things until you finished it.

I had to know how the actual series ended. Of course I read Untamed (the companion novella collection) shortly after.

Crucio- Cruciatus Curse: a book that was painful to read (for whatever reason) or that broke you.

This was painful to read because of how graphic the descriptions of the battles and destruction were. It held nothing back meaning we even get descriptions of what was done to babies. That is what killed me.

Rictusempra- Tickling Charm: a book that had you laughing out loud

This is told in all emails from employees at an advertising company. It is definitely an adult book, but it had me laughing hard and yelling at certain characters. It is a series, but I don’t have plans on continuing.

Expelliarmus: Disarming Charm: a book that made you want to send it (or your E-reader) flying

Chosen by P. C. And Kristin Cast. I was just getting so fed up with the MC and her drama she was causing herself romance wise that it pulled me away from the real reason I was interested in the series to begin with which is her vampire mark. I DNF it and I unhauled all three books I had from in this series (House of Night)

Portus- Bookish world you wish you could visit

Hogwarts of course 😊

Avada Kadavra- The Killing Curse: a character death that destroyed you

All of the deaths in Harry Potter. ALL OF THEM!! Probably why I have been putting off reading Goblet of Fire.

Stupefy- Stunning Spell: a book with a shocking twist or ending

THIS IS WHY I HAVE TRUST ISSUES!!! I should have seen it coming but of course I didn’t.

Finite Incantatem- Best series conclusion

Y’all are probably sick of me talking about this series and book, but I have to go with Untamed. Plus I haven’t really finished many series so yea lol

N. E. W. T.s Magical Readathon TBR

It’s N. E. W. T.s time people!! If you don’t know what this is, it is a continuation from the O. W. L.s that happened in April. Both are based on the wizarding tests taken at Hogwarts (O. W. L.s in 5th year, N. E. W. T.s in 7th year). These are taken to determine your wizarding career. The amazing creator of the magical readathon is G at Book Roast. Here is where you can find the information for this round which starts in August.

During the O. W. L.s, I chose the career of Potioneer (because to know me is to know I love Snape). So that meant I had to complete the prompts (or exams) for Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Herbology, and Potions. However, I decided to go for all 12 classes and completed all but Astronomy. Therefore, for N. E. W. T.s, I can read for all subjects except Astronomy since I didn’t pass it. If this is confusing, G explains it way better lol I’ll just get right into the books I’m planning on reading (all 33 since I’m aiming to complete all that I can)

Priority TBR for Potioneer

First exam I need is Potions and I need an Outstanding, meaning I need to read three books. The prompts are:

A- Polyjuice Potion: Read your friend’s favorite book

E- House Ingredient: Read a book in your house color (I’m a proud Slytherin 💚🐍)

O- Book that starts with a Prologue

Next is an E in Herbology so I have to read two books

A- Mandrake! Quick, put your headphones on! Listen to an audiobook (If not- green cover)

E- Read a book between 350-390 pages

O- Read a book with a flower on the cover (extra credit)

Next I need an A in CoMC

A- Follow the spiders! Why couldn’t it be follow the butterflies? Book title that starts with an A for Aragog

E- Book under 300 pages (EC)

O- Grab onto Fawkes tail! Read a book with a bird on the cover (EC)

And lastly, I need to get an A in Arithmancy

A- Book that ends on an even page number

E- Read a stand-alone (EC)

O- Book that is longer than 350 pages (EC)

All extra books I will try to accomplish

Ancient Runes:

A- Ehwaz (partnership): read recommended by a friend

E- Book written in past tense

O- Book that has been on your TBR for ages

Charms:

A- Read a book you think has a gorgeous cover

E- Read a comic/graphic novel/manga (or a book under 150 pages)

O- Spongify (softening charm): Read a paperback book

Defense Against the Dark Arts:

A- Book that’s black under the dust jacket

E- Gilderoy’s memory charm: (grab a pen) first book that you remembered just now from your TBR

O- Cornish Pixie! Swat it away with a book written by an English author or set in England

Divination:

A- Read a white book

E- Read a short story or a collection of short stories

This will be an in the moment pick because I have no idea

O- Read the last book you bought/ borrowed from the library

History of Magic:

A- Read a fantasy

E- Read a book that includes a map

O- Tom Riddle’s diary: fond memory- reread a favorite or read a classic

plan on reading both stories

Muggle studies:

A- Cover that includes an actual photo element (person, item, place, etc)

E- Book set in our real world

O- Book written by a person of color

Transfiguration:

A- Read a book with LGBTQIA+ representation

E- Read a book that is not a first in a series

O- McGonagall does not mess around! Read a book over 500 pages

I truly believe this is the most ambitious TBR ever for me lol that is definitely the Slytherin in me 🐍 I hope to at least complete my whole priority TBR done and whatever doesn’t not get read will probably make it on to September lol

The Ultimate Harry Potter Tag

I love Harry Potter. I have seen all the movies, and making my way through all the books. I’m currently on Goblet of Fire, as in I need to start it. I seen this tag on _ForBooksSake and thought I would do it as well! So let’s get into it.

Favorite book Like previously stated, I’ve only read up to book 3. However, Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite. That might change after i finish reading the rest of the series, but at this moment it is Prisoner of Azkaban. Least favorite book My least favorite has to be Philosopher’s Stone. It’s probably because it’s the introduction to everything, and i normally rate all introductions to series lower. That is really the only reason why it’s my least favorite. I still love it though. Favorite movie Prisoner of Azkaban is the only movie I’ve seen more than once. It introduces two of my three favorite adults, Sirius and Remus, as well as my favorite scene in the whole series. Plus Fred and George and the map. I just love this movie a whole lot. Least favorite movie I honestly don’t think i have a least favorite movie. Then again, I’ve only seen them once so I’m not sure. Favorite quote I am a proud SLytherin, and even though “After all this time? Always” is a favorite, i honestly have to say that Professor Snape’s opening speech in Philosopher’s Stone just makes me smile. Favorite Weasley I have to go with Bill. I love the twins with all my heart, but there is something about the oldest Weasley that just made me want more of him. Favorite female character This has to be Bellatrix. I just loved this crazy woman. I don’t consider her evil. She is just loyal to her beliefs, and will do whatever it takes to see them come through. (Spoken like a true Slytherin) Favorite villian Umbridge would be the perfect answer for this since she is like the ultimate villian. However, I’m going with Lucius. He is the ultimate con man in my opinion. He can talk or bribe his way out of anything. I love the whole Malfoy family. Favorite professor SEVERUS TOBIAS SNAPE!! Enough said. Wash Snape’s hair, or spend a whole day listening to Lockhart rant about himself Definitely washing Snape’s hair because I can see myself punching Lockhart to shut him up. Duel an elated Bellatrix, or an angry Molly An elated Bellatrix. Just because duelign either of these women when angry is just dangerous. Travel to Hogwarts via the Hogwarts Express, or flying car I am definitely riding the Hogwarts Express. The car just seems way too faulty. Kiss Voldemort or give Umbridge a bubble bath Kissing Voldie. No doubt about it. I am going nowhere near Umbridge. Ride a Hippogriff or a Firebolt Hippogriff, because there is more room to move around and hold in comparison to a broom. Is there a character you felt differently about in the movies over the books I can’t really answer this since I haven’t finished the books yet. Is there a movie you preffered over its book Again, I can’t really answer since I haven’t finished reading the books. Richard Harris or Michael Gambon as Dumbledore Um, I honestly don’t know. I would have to watch the first movies again because i can only picture the later Dumbledore. Your top thing (person or scene) which wasn’t included in the movie that annoyed you the most I really wished Peeves was in the movies. If you could re-make any of the Potter movies which would it be? None of them. I like them the way they are. Which house was your first gut feeling you’d be a part of? It was a tie between Slytherin and Ravenclaw, leaning more towards Slytherin. Which house were you actually sorted into on Pottermore? Ravenclaw Which class would be your favorite? Potions of course. I love chemistry so it only makes sense. Which spell do you think would be the most useful to learn? Protego. I need to shield myself Which character do you think you would instantly become friends with? Definitely Luna. Plus according to Pottermore, we would be in the same house. If you could win one of the three Hallows, which it would it be? The invisiblity cloak is the one i definitely want to own. Is there any aspect of the books you’d want to change? Nope. They wouldn’t have the same effect if they were changed. Favorite Marauder Remus, Remus, Remus. I love Sirius, but I can just connect to Remus. If you could bring one character back to life, which would it be? I can’t choose just one!! Hallows or Horcruxes Hallows I really liked doing this tag. Asking who to bring back from the dead was like asking who is your favorite child. I feel like some of my answers shows that I’m a grey witch lol I hope you enjoy doing this tag if you decide to do it.
