Best and Worst Book Series of 2020 book tag

Hey everyone! Work has definitely been keeping me busy (retail and holidays omg) so I haven’t been reading as much or posting as much as I wanted to. I wanted to do some kind of post today since I’m off, and I came across this tag on YouTube. Since I mostly read series, I thought this was fitting. Let’s get into these questions!

1) what is the best series that you caught up with this year that is still a work in progress?

That would be the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews. This is my favorite series of theirs! I think there will be a bit of a wait for book 6 because they are releasing a spin off series to Kate Daniels. I believe the first book comes out next year, and then Ruby Fever comes out 2022 (I could be wrong however I believe that’s what I read)

2) what is the best work in progress series that you are still catching up with?

I have to go with the series that brought me my first favorite author, and that’s Alex Cross by James Patterson. I swear I will be reading books by this man even when I’m old and gray lol this series alone has to be 20+ books and counting. I’m nowhere near caught up smh

3) what was your favorite first book in a series this year?

Hands down Get A Life, Chloe Brown. That book is special to me.

4) what is a first book in a series you read this year that you think should have just been a standalone, not a series?

Going with One of Us is Lying. I feel like it would have been fine on its own. However, then I wouldn’t have gotten Two Can Keep A Secret, which is my second favorite book of the year.

5) what is your most over-hyped series of the year?

I don’t have an answer for this because most of the series I’ve read this year have been backlist series.

6) what is a series that you DNFed this year?

Of Fire and Stars, The Crown’s Game, and Shatter Me are ones I actually made it past the first book.

7) what was your favorite series finale of the year?

The Midnight Star by Marie Lu.

8) what was the biggest cliffhanger you had in a series this year?

The ending to Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl HURT!!! It did not have to end like that.

9) what is your favorite spinoff series you read this year?

I don’t think I’ve read one. Unless you count books 4&5 in Hidden Legacy since we follow a different character then the first trilogy.

10) what is your most anticipated next book in a series that you read this year that will come out next year?

Any Way the Wind Blows by Rainbow Rowell. My babies Simon and Baz and Penelope πŸ’š It comes out in my birthday month too!!

11) what is your most anticipated series to catch up with next year based on what you read in that series this year?

A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas comes out next year. It’s a continuation of the ACOTAR series, and it follows Nesta and Cassian. I can not wait for this because I love Cassian, and Nesta intrigues more than her sisters πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

12) what is your favorite series that you finished this year?

The Castor Chronicles (or Beautiful Creatures series) by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. The emotions that series put me through, plus the audiobooks were so immersive with the sound effects and the narrator was soooo good. Still not over how the final book made me happy just to rip my heart out.

13) what is your favorite episodic series of the year?

I honestly do not know. That’s a good question.

14) what is a series that you finally bailed on after holding onto it for a long time?

I’m glad to say I don’t have one. If I’m not feeling a series or book, I DNF it with no problem. I try to make it halfway to give it a fair try.

15) what is the series you were most surprised that you liked this year?

I would count The Kiss of Deception as an answer for this. It from a DNF to a 4 star read. I need book 2, but I want it physically lol

16) what is the series that you meant to catch up with or finish this year that you didn’t?

The Schools for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani. Partly because I was waiting on the final book’s release this summer, and partly because I don’t want it to end 😫 I’m only on book 5 still and only like chapter 4 lol I am definitely dragging my feet

17) what is a series you finished this year that you think is greater than the sum of its parts?

The Another series by siblings Daniel and Dina Nayeri. Book 2 is by far the best of the trilogy to me, but I feel like that series was missing something. Idk what though.

Well that is all the questions. If you would like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged! I hope you all enjoyed my answers. As always, happy reading everyone πŸ’š

End of the year book tag 2020

Hey everyone!! Today I am bringing you my End of the Year Book Tag. I’ve seen this going around lately, but haven’t really looked at the questions or videos because I wanted this to be right off the top of my head. I didn’t want to think about it and end up changing things and whatnot. So without further ado, let’s get started!

Are there any books you started this year that need to finish?

Definitely. The main one being Strange the Dreamer. It is on my TBR this month so hopefully I can finish it. Also included in that is RoseBlood by A. G. Howard.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

I’m not really a seasonal reader. I’m too impatient to try and save something for a certain time of year lol

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

Not that I’m aware of. If I’m not mistaken, my December release that I was looking forward to is now out. That would be The Cousins by Karen M. McManus. I already have it on hold at the library.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Not including the two I mentioned in question one, I would say The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien, We Unleash the Merciless Storm by Tehlor Kay Mejia, and Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

That’s a tough one. I would say it’s a possibility, but it has to beat out Get a Life, Chloe Brown. That book still holds the title of favorite of the year and I read it in February I believe.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?

Not concrete plans because I want to wait and see what I have left on my physical TBR by the end of the year. All that is set though is that I want to reread the Twilight series next year as well as get caught up on the Shadowhunter world. Plus I definitely plan on continuing with Bookopoly next year.

Well that’s it everyone! If you haven’t done this tag, and would like to, consider yourself tagged! Have a great day everyone and happy reading πŸ’š

Reread Book Tag

Hello everyone! Today I’m bringing you a book tag. I first seen this over at Kira Jeanette, and knew I had to do it. I love to reread books. Not only do they help me get out of slumps, but sometimes I just be in the mood for something I know I love or really enjoyed. So without further ado, let’s get into the tag!

THE RULES:

Tag as many or as little readers as you like
  • A childhood favorite you could read 100 times and still love
  • The first ever mystery book I read. I still love it and I still get the answer wrong every time lol

A book you DNFED but would be willing to give a second chance to

I want to give this another chance because I feel like I wrongly DNFed it

A newer favorite you would reread

I could reread this entire series over! I’m surprised I haven’t already lol

A book you hated and never want to read again

I absolutely love this series, but this book here was the worst so far. I gave it 2 stars.

A classic you read in school but want to try again

I have to go with Beowulf. It really captured my attention then, and I wonder if it would still hold it today.

An author you would reread anything from

That would be Soman Chainani. No I haven’t finished this series yet lol I’m dragging on reading the last two books because I don’t want it to end 😫

A series you want to reread for the fun of it
Mentioned it above. The Illuminae Files is definitely one I want to reread as well as the Caster Chronicles one day
A series you want to reread for an adaptation
I honestly have no idea what’s being made into movies or shows these days so I don’t have an answer for this one
A book you’ve read but want to listen to the audiobook
I actually prefer to read physically while the audiobook is playing. Something about it just brings me into the story. Only time I dont is if it’s a reread or I don’t have the physical book. For those I just listen to the audiobook while at work.

Well this was fun 😊 I love to reread books, but I really need to get to ones on my shelf that I haven’t read lol If you would like to do this tag, feel free! As always, happy reading everyone πŸ’š

Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag 2020 (and also happy one year of this blog πŸ’š)

Hey everyone!! Today I’m bringing you the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag. I did it last year and enjoyed it. So I figured I would do it again this year. Also…I’ve officially been a book blogger for a year now! June 9 was my one year anniversary and honestly I’m surprised I’ve stuck with it lol I still have to work on not stressing out when I don’t post on time (or at all for awhile) as well as come up with some sort of schedule for myself. All of this will come with time though so I’m happy 😊 now…onto the tag!!

Best book you’ve read in 2020 so far

Book 2 is out now and I need it!!

Best sequel you’ve read in 2020

    HANDS. DOWN.

New release you haven’t read yet but want to

yes I own book 6. No I haven’t read book 5 yet lol this came out June 2 and I need the conclusion but I also don’t want it to end.

Most anticipated book for the second half of the year

I have two for this answer. There might be more, but these two came to mind first.

Emerald Blaze is the next Hidden Legacy book by Ilona Andrews that releases in August. One of my favorite authors so of course I’m excited!!

The Cousins releases in December. I want to read it to see if I actually do like Karen M. McManus’ work since I thoroughly enjoyed the One of Us is Lying series.

    Most disappointing read of 2020

Going with this one only because I hyped it up so good in my head and I only got 100 pages in. I almost had to force myself to read it. Unfortunately it was a DNF

    Most surprising read of 2020

The amount of times I heard that this book was bad…omg. I literally thought it would be a DNF and such a let down. However. This book here made me ugly cry soo hard!! I knew it was coming, but it hit with a one two combination and boy did I need some time to myself afterwards. I actually enjoyed this book. Not as much as the first two, but I didn’t feel like it brought down the series at all.

    Favorite new author

Marie Lu and Talia Hibbert. I haven’t even read much by either one, yet they both being such strong reactions out of me (mostly tears lol) plus their characters feel so real!! Yes these two will keep me coming back.

    Newest fictional crush

    Kal ❀️

    Newest favorite character

Amma, Ethan, Macon, Link, and Lena. They are all in one series so they count as one 😎 plus I need to finish this series as well

    Book that made you cry

    Hmmm let’s see:

    Yes all of these lol

    Book that made you happy

    Most beautiful book you bought/received

What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

I want to finish out more series this year. I want to end the year with a lot finished so I can enter next year able to read more series lol

Never Will I Ever Book Tag

Hello everyone! Today I’m bringing you a book tag. I haven’t done one of these on my blog in a long while so I decided today is going to change that. This was originally created by Irish Reader over on Booktube and I thought it might be fun. So let’s get started!

Never will I ever ship this- Pick a book/series OTP that you will never ship

I have to go with Harry and Ginny from Harry Potter. I just never really liked them together.

Never will I ever forget this ending- Pick a book/series ending that you will never forget (in a good or bad way)

I have to go with Allegiant. I rarely cry over books but man that ending broke me.

Never will I ever get over this characters death- Pick a character death from a book/series that you will never stop mourning (GIVE SPOILER WARNINGS)

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE DIVERGENT SERIES!!!

Yes Tris’ death hurt like hell, but it was Uriah’s death that broke me. He was always a favorite of mine and it still hurts to think about.

Never will I ever stop crying over this book- Pick a book/series that you will always cry over (in a good or bad way)

Going with Untamed by A. G. Howard for this one. It’s the companion novel to her Splintered series, and it’s broken into three novellas that shed light on different moments from all three books. So it ties in nicely, especially the last novella that’s pretty much an epilogue. It brought out the tears big time both happy and sad.

Never will I ever read this book/series- Pick a book/series that you will never read

The True Blood (Sookie Stackhouse) series. I got like 10 pages into the first book and immediately knew it was not for me.

Never will I ever stop raving about this book/series- Pick a book/series that you will never stop raving about or recommending

I have two that I am ALWAYS talking about lol the Splintered series and also the School for Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani.

Never will I ever lend this book/series out to a friend- Pick a book/series that you will never let someone borrow

The two series I mentioned above and also my white edition of the Twilight saga. I haven’t even taken it out of the plastic lol I do not want to mess it up.

Never will I ever not tag you- Tag three friends to do this tag that you will never stop tagging

Well I’ve never really tagged people in anything before so if you would like to do this tag, then consider yourself tagged!

This was a fun tag to do! I hope you all enjoy it as well. Happy reading πŸ’š

    Christmas Songs Book Tag

Hello everyone! I was tagged by Danni over at For Books Sake to do this tag so here I go!! Thanks for tagging me!

“All I Want For Christmas Is You”– Favorite bookish couple

Oh boy. Tough one right from the start. I know who my favorite would be, but it would be spoilers for a series. So I’m going with my next favorite of Simon and Baz from Carry On by Rainbow Rowell.

“I’ll Be Home For Christmas” – Name a book where a character is away from home.

Going with The School for Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” – Name your favorite “little” book (children’s book, short story, novella, etc)

I don’t really read little books. I’m a big book kind of lady so I have no answer for this one.

“Santa Clause is Coming to Town” – What book(s) do you hope Santa brings you this year?

There are a lot of books I want, however I would like to start my collection of every James Patterson book written. Even the middle grade ones.

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” – What book turned your nose red (made you cry)

I don’t think I’ve cried a lot in books this year. There is one, however, that sticks out as making me highly emotional, and that is Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire SΓ‘enz.

“The Most Wonderful Time of Year” – Your favorite book/kind of book to read during the holidays.

I read fantasy year round. The type of fantasy may change, but it’s always a fantasy book.

“We Three Kings” – your favorite trilogy

I have three because of course I do lol Splintered series by A. G. Howard, Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth, and the Another trilogy by Daniel and Dina Nayeri.

“Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow” – a character you would like to be snowed in with

Part of me wants to say Draco Malfoy and the other part wants to say Bill Weasley. So I’m going with both 😎

“Last Christmas” – a book that seriously let you down

Switched by Amanda Hocking. I think this is honestly my one big let down of the year

“White Christmas” – an upcoming release you’re dreaming about

One True King by Soman Chainani. It’s the final book of the School for Good and Evil series. Im excited but sad to see it end. Definitely do a reread of the whole series leading up to the release.

    I tag:

    Happy holidays everyone!!

    Football Book Tag

Hey everyone! It’s my favorite sport season of the year…football season. Go Bears! Go Saints! (Born in one city raised in another so I show love to both teams lol)

I saw Cass from What Cass Read on booktube do this tag and I couldn’t pass it up. So let’s get into the tag!

False Start- What’s a book you had to start more than once?

The only book I can think of is The Doctor’s Wife by Elizabeth Brundage. I started it in April, put it down, restarted it in July, and just DNF it recently. I don’t if I’m just not a Thriller person or if it was just that book. Any suggestions on Thrillers would be greatly appreciated!

MVP- What are your Most Valued Pages, aka, which books do you value the most?

This should come as no surprise to anyone that’s been following me awhile, but of course I’m going with The Splintered series as well as The School for Good and Evil series (final book is being released next year and I’m not ready 😫)

Offensive Lineman- Name a really big book or series

Going to go with one of my favorite authors James Patterson and say the Alex Cross series. I’m pretty sure that series has at least 30 books at this current time. I’m only on number 11. I just might binge read the series next month (that doesn’t sound half bad)

Rookie-Name a debut novel that you want to read or that you loved

Well what do you know? Both Splintered and The School for Good and Evil we’re debut novels for A. G. Howard and Soman Chainani respectively.

Peyton Manning- Name an author who has written two different books or series you love

Ilona Andrews. Hands down. This husband and wife duo has made it to my favorites list. I love their Hidden Legacy, Kate Daniels, and The Edge series. Caught up on Hidden Legacy (well besides the new release last month), have 2 more to go in The Edge series, and a long way to go on Kate lol

Lambeau Field- Name a book that’s very atmospheric

The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang. I’m really want to pick up The Dragon Republic but my heart and emotions are not ready (I doubt they every will be)

Hail Mary- Name a book with a great ending

Going with the reason I was in a book hangover last month and say A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas. Oh boy. I literally yelled at the ending and then immediately bought A Court of Wings and Ruin and A Court of Frost and Starlight. They will definitely be read soon.

Raiders- Name a book or series with intense fans

I’m interpreting this as “very passionate fans”. Book wise I will say The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Series wise I’m going with The Nevernight Chronicles by Jay Kristoff. No I haven’t read either of these lol still on the fence about the first but I’m definitely interested in Nevernight

Walter Payton Man of the Year- Name an author who’s really charitable

Umm I have no idea. I just got back into reading this year so I haven’t really followed any authors that way

Patriots- Name a book or series that you’re SO TIRED of hearing about

I don’t think I have one. I’m one that tends to like hearing different takes and perspectives on books and series. Then I read it and see where I fall.

Brett Favre- Name a book or series you thought was over but than more books were written

Again I just got back into reading this year so I’m so far behind on books and series so I wouldn’t even know

Cowboys- Name a book or series that people either love or hate

Anything by either Sarah J Maas or Cassandra Clare

Trick Plays- Name a book or series with a plot twist

I have to go with The School for Good and Evil series. This MG series has plot twists from the very first book. The ending of book 4 still has me shook.

Cheerleaders- A book with a flashy cover

I think I will go with the whole Shatter Me series

Roughing the Passer- Name a book that you would love to throw at the author

Switched by Amanda Hocking. I had the box set of the Trylle series (total cover selection) and the synopsis sounded really good. The story however πŸ˜’ still my biggest disappointment of the year. I was so let down.

That brings us to the end of this tag. Anyone else football fans or have significant others that are football fans? If you would like to do this tag, I would love to see how you respond to this questions. As always, have a great day πŸ’š

    Harry Potter Spells Book Tag

I have to start this by saying: HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY! I couldn’t let this day go by without doing a Harry Potter tag. This was created by Kimberlyfaye Reads and BookNerd Betsy (can’t find a link to this blog). Let’s get to it!!

Accio- Summoning charm: An upcoming release you wish you could get your hands on right now

Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell I cannot wait for this!! This is the sequel to Carry On. It releases in September but my copy (this edition) doesn’t release until October. I wanted a match to my edition of Carry On. Plus I have matching bookmarks for each.

Alohomora- Unlocking charm: Favorite series starter

I loved this, and I just ordered Gemina and Obsidio through Amazon Prime so they should arrive tomorrow!

Cheering Charm- a book that gave you all the warm fuzzies

I couldn’t help but smile throughout this book and will definitely reread it over and over.

Aguamenti- Water Making Spell: a book that made you ugly cry

This was very close to making me ugly cry. I feel like the sequel will make hurt even worse and I’m only slightly prepared.

Expecto Patronum- Patronus Charm: Bookish hero or heroine you want around to protect you in real life

Agatha from The School for Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani (girl on bottom). This one is the latest in the series, and I NEED to find out what Agatha and Tedros will do after the conclusion of book 4.

Lumos- A book you intentionally spoiled for yourself

Does Harry Potter count? I mean I have seen the movies first, but that was years ago and the only one I remember is Prisoner of Azkaban because it’s the only one I’ve seen multiple times.

Imperio- A book you wish you could make everyone read because you loved it so much

The only book (besides the Twilight series) that I own more than one copy of. I absolutely love this book and I have no idea why. It’s not the best thing ever, but it’s my happy book 😊

Engorgio- Engorgement Charm: a book or series that you wish never ended

The Splintered series by A. G. Howard. I have a great idea for a spin-off series that I would love to see, but I can’t say more about it because it spoils something lol just know it’s killing me that I probably won’t ever get it 😫😫

Wingardium Leviosa- a book with an uplifting ending or message

I’m having a hard time thinking of one πŸ€” Can someone recommend me one??

Obliviate- Memory Charm: A book you wish you could forget you ever read

The House is Night series. I only read books 1&2 and DNF book 3. It just got to be too much.

Anapneo- an author whose books always get you out of a slump

Soman Chainani. Being with Agatha, Tedros, Sophie, and the gang from The School for Good and Evil just makes me feel good and the books just suck me in. Makes me want to keep reading afterwards.

    Jelly-Legs Jinx- A swoon-worthy hero or heroine

Morpheus, Morpheus, Morpheus. Jeb as well ❀️

Aresto Momentum- A book that caused you to stop doing all other things until you finished it.

I had to know how the actual series ended. Of course I read Untamed (the companion novella collection) shortly after.

Crucio- Cruciatus Curse: a book that was painful to read (for whatever reason) or that broke you.

This was painful to read because of how graphic the descriptions of the battles and destruction were. It held nothing back meaning we even get descriptions of what was done to babies. That is what killed me.

Rictusempra- Tickling Charm: a book that had you laughing out loud

This is told in all emails from employees at an advertising company. It is definitely an adult book, but it had me laughing hard and yelling at certain characters. It is a series, but I don’t have plans on continuing.

Expelliarmus: Disarming Charm: a book that made you want to send it (or your E-reader) flying

Chosen by P. C. And Kristin Cast. I was just getting so fed up with the MC and her drama she was causing herself romance wise that it pulled me away from the real reason I was interested in the series to begin with which is her vampire mark. I DNF it and I unhauled all three books I had from in this series (House of Night)

Portus- Bookish world you wish you could visit

    Hogwarts of course 😊

Avada Kadavra- The Killing Curse: a character death that destroyed you

All of the deaths in Harry Potter. ALL OF THEM!! Probably why I have been putting off reading Goblet of Fire.

Stupefy- Stunning Spell: a book with a shocking twist or ending

THIS IS WHY I HAVE TRUST ISSUES!!! I should have seen it coming but of course I didn’t.

    Finite Incantatem- Best series conclusion

Y’all are probably sick of me talking about this series and book, but I have to go with Untamed. Plus I haven’t really finished many series so yea lol

This was fun to do! Once again, happy 39th birthday Harry, and also happy birthday J. K. Rowling πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆ

The A to Z Book Tag

Hey everyone! Today I am bringing you another book tag. I don’t know who the original creator is, however I thank them for making this tag! Without further ado, let’s get to it.

A- Author you’ve read the most books from. Definitely has to be James Patterson. He was mostly all I read back in high school.

B- Best sequel ever. Is there even any surprise that I’m mentioning Unhinged by A.G. Howard?

C- Currently Reading. I am currently reading The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

D- Drink of choice while reading. Majority of the time it’s water.

E- E-reader or Physical books? I definitely prefer physical books

F- Fictional character you would have dated in high school. That would be Jeb from the Splintered series by A. G. Howard.

G- Glad you gave this book a chance. Hands down that has to be Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. It is historical fiction which is something I just don’t normally pick up, but I fell in love with the characters and the story and just ugh it was so good in my opinion.

H- Hidden Gem Book. I think any of the Another trilogy books by Daniel and Dina Nayeri are hidden gems. I shall be finishing that trilogy next month.

I- Important moment in your reading life. I’m not sure if I can recall any important moment in my reading life.

J- Just finished reading. I just finished reading The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang

K- Kinds of books you won’t read. The only books I can think of are probably self-help books. I just don’t think they are for me. Maybe romance as well, but I’m willing to give romance one more chance.

L- Longest book you’ve read. I don’t know about over all, but I know this year I believe is was the bind up of the first three books in the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. That was over 900+ pages.

M- Major book hangover because of.. Untamed by A. G. Howard. I mention it a lot but it’s just that good!!!

N- Number is bookcases you own. Just one, but in desperate need of another one.

O- One book you’ve read multiple times. That would be one of my all time favorites, Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blake-Cartwright

P- Preferred place to read. My bed is my favorite place to read

Q- Quote that inspires you/ give you the “feels” I don’t think I have one. I’m not really the person to see a quote and remember it. I’ll like it in that moment, but after I’m done with the book or even if I set it down for awhile, I’ll forget it.

R- Reading regret That I stopped reading for a few years after high school. I seem to have missed out on some great books/series

S- Series you’ve started, but need to continue Oh boy lol we would be here all day if I started listing those

T- Three of your all-time favorite books Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blake-Cartwright, Untamed by A. G. Howard, and Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

U- Unapologetic Fangirl for… Morpheus from the Splintered series

V- Very excited for this release more than any others Definitely Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell. I need more Baz and Simon

W- Worst Habit Starting a new series and taking forever to read the rest of that series

X- X marks the spot: the 27th book on your shelf The 27th book on my shelf just happens to be Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (which I plan on rereading sometime this year)

Y- Your latest book purchase A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas and a different edition of Red Riding Hood

Z- Zzzz snatcher: last book that kept you up way too late The last book I can remember staying up really late for to finish was Dark Visions by L. J. Smith

This was actually pretty fun to do, plus I got to mention my favorites again lol I hope you enjoy this and if you want to do this tag, then consider yourself tagged! Happy reading everyone πŸ’š

    The Spring Cleaning Book Tag

Hey everyone! I was tagged by Alys at Alys in Bookland to do this book tag, and as it is my first time being tagged for anything (lol) I felt I had to do it. So lets get started!!

The struggle of getting started: a book/book series that you have struggled to begin because of its size

Definitely Game of Thrones. That being said though, I will be starting it at some point this month. At least that’s the plan.

Cleaning out the closet: a book and/or book series you want to unhaul

The only books I’m considering unhauling are the first two in the Vampire Academy series. I thought the first book was just ok, and I’ve had the second one just sitting on my shelf. I’ve had no interest in picking it up, but for some reason I can’t bring myself to unhaul it.

Opening windows and letting fresh air in: a book that was refreshing

I actually just finished The Giver by Lois Lowry. It was a nice and easy read for me.

Washing out sheet stains: a book you wish you could rewrite a certain scene in

The only book I can think of is Switched by Amanda Hocking. The premise of this sounded so good, yet I don’t think the story was written in a way that the synopsis eluded to. So I would rewrite the entire book.

Throwing out unnecessary knick-knacks: a book in a series that you didn’t feel was necessary

I don’t have an answer for this one. Plus it doesn’t help that I start many series, but need to actually continue them.

Polishing the doorknob: a book that had a clean finish

That would Untamed by A.G. Howard. It’s a novella collection that comes after the official ending of the Splintered series. I say this has a clean finish because the novellas shed light on some plot points that either were just mentioned or shortly explored. Plus the final novella, Six Impossible Things, just hit every feeling while wrapping up and expanding on the end of the series.

Reaching to dust the fan: a book that tried too hard to relay a certain topic

There is nothing coming to mind for this one. Like at all lol

The tiring yet satisfying finish of spring cleaning: a book series that was tiring yet satisfying to get through

I can only think of the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. It’s over 20 books and I’m only on number 11. I feel like I will never catch up, but I honestly don’t mind that. He is one of my favorite authors so this is no struggle for me.

Looking forward to next spring: tag 4 people you want to do this tag

I would tag people, but I don’t know how just yet lol So if you would like to do this tag, you are more than welcome!

Have a great day and enjoy your reading!
