April Book Haul

Hey everyone! So as you can tell by the title, I finally caved and bought books lol not a lot though. I bought 5 and a preorder finally arrived. I contemplated a Book Outlet order, but I held back. I’m trying hard to make sure I read what’s on my shelves before I add a lot to it. So, what did I get? Let’s find out!!

Preorder

Chain of Gold has finally arrived!! I’m not sure if it came late March or early April, but I’m including it. Now, I am nowhere near caught up in order to read this. However, I really like the Shadowhunter world so I had to have it. This is pretty much what started this mini haul.

Yes I am aware I thought Aurora Rising was just ok. However, I still wanted it lol Plus my favorite is the cover model of book 2 and I need more of him 😊 The authors have also gotten me excited with their read along of book 1 and behind the scenes things. Plus I want to know why one of the narrators cried.

Because why not lol just wanted to add to my illustrated edition collection 💚

I already have more I want to pick up….I’m doing very well on reading my shelf though so it’s like rewards for myself lol now on to finish the last three books I need for my owls to be complete 😊

My first book haul post revisited!

Hey everyone! Today I thought I would do something different. In two months I will be hitting one year of this blog!! So I was scrolling through my first few posts and came across this post that is my June Wrap Up and Book Haul. So I thought I would revisit that haul and see if I have read all (or most) of them or not. I don’t even remember most of that haul lol Let’s get started!!

2nd and Charles (used bookstore)

Illuminae 5 stars! I loved this entire series.

Carry On Again 5 stars! I had actually read this before I started my blog, but I didn’t have my own copy until then. I still have yet to read Wayward Son or Fangirl.

The Maze Runner 4 stars. I really enjoyed this. Granted I may have to do a reread when I go to continue the series because I have a vague recollection of what happened lol

Passenger is still unread. It’s been on so many TBRs and I have yet to pick it up even though I really want to read it.

Simon VS The Homo Sapiens Agenda Another 5 stars! I absolutely loved this book and the movie as well. They both were so good imo.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe 4 stars. The feels with this one!! These two young gentlemen have my heart just like Simon & Blue and Simon & Baz 💚

Book Outlet (my first order!!)

Shatter Me 3 stars. This was a recent read and yeaaa y’all know I felt about it lol currently reading Unravel Me so this will decide if I continue on (probably will because I’m becoming slightly invested.)

And I Darken is still unread. I am trying to read my shelves this year and so I’m doing well. So it should be read this year.

Rebel of the Sands is also unread. Again I should get to it this year.

Four 4 stars. I actually enjoyed this. Nice to see what one of faves was thinking. Plus I needed it after Allegiant killed me.

The Caster Chronicles books 2-4 (already owned book 1) plus the spinoff books:

Beautiful Chaos 5 stars

Beautiful Redemption is this month’s read and I can’t wait to read the conclusion. Even though I don’t want it to end 😫

Dangerous Creatures will be read month.

Dangerous Deception will conclude my read of this world and that will be June’s read.

So for this book haul, I’ve read 9/15. Not bad. I had fun revisiting this haul and I might do another at some point.

Fall book haul

Oh boy. I forgot to do a haul post in both September and October, and of course I’ve already bought books this month lol so I’ve decided to showcase everything I’ve bought and received up to this point. Fair warning: I may not remember where I got a couple of these 😬 and it’s going to be long. Let’s get started!

Subscription boxes

These first three cane from subscription boxes that I canceled after only two boxes. I just didn’t feel like I was getting what was advertised.

The Westing Game is one of my all time favorites so I had to pick it up. Plus I just wanted to grab a few others by this author to see if I like them just as much. If you love books with a puzzle or game aspect, try The Westing Game.

People have multiple editions of Harry Potter (I will too eventually). I have multiple editions of this series. I know have the paperbacks in this edition and the original black edition, plus the hardbacks, the 10th anniversary hardback double edition of Twilight, and the gender flipped 10th anniversary story Life and Death in paperback. The double edition has Twilight on one side and then you flip it over and it’s Life and Death (Beau and Edyth instead of Bella and Edward) on that side.

Speaking of Harry Potter lol I finally have my own set of the series. I absolutely love this edition plus I was too excited when my preordered copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Illustrated Edition came in last month. I know have books 2-4 of the illustrated editions. Now I just want a hardback set of the whole series.

A Court of Mist and Fury left me in a book hangover after reading it so I had to pick up the rest that’s out. My Rhysand print came from an order I did with Happy Hello on Etsy.

I absolutely loved Carry On so why wouldn’t I pick this up?!?!

Only one I’ve read in this order is Romiette and Julio back in school. I absolutely loved it so I got it just to see if I still love it. Plus I wanted to continue in the Daughter Of Smoke and Bone trilogy. Everything else just sounded interesting lol

Now I have all 4 illustrated editions 💚

I still need The Young Elites but I’m happy I found books 2 and 3! I really enjoyed book The Young Elites and have been wanting to continue and now I can!

If I haven’t made it apparent by now, I love big books and I love series. I could not pass these up.

Book mail!!

I recently received my copies of two books I was highly anticipating. I say was like I’m still not highly excited to read these! Side note: I honestly don’t remember what they are about soooo I will just show you how beautiful they are 😍😍

The Beholder by Anna Bright and We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal

I also got them signed and personalized!! I received these from a site called Good Choice Reading Virtual Signings. I heard about them from Mel from Meltotheany on her booktube channel.

I really can’t wait to read these…whenever that is 😂

June Wrap Up and Book Haul

This is slightly late, but only by a couple days. I didn’t really read much in June since it was month two of my reading slump. However I did managed to read 3 novels, 3 graphic novels, and 1 ARC along with 2 DNFs. I also went a little wild and bought 15 books (three of them have been read). So let’s see what I did.

My two DNFs were both by authors I love which sucked but hey it happens. My favorite of the month was Illuminae, and I’m definitely continuing on.

Now on to this haul I spoke of. There is a store in a city near me called 2nd and Charles, which is a used bookstore. They also sell new releases, but I mostly go for the used books since I’m just getting back into reading and want to read past popular books. Plus they are cheap. I went there twice in the month of June. I also bought my first Book Outlet purchase, which was a total of nine books.

The image won’t load for this one, but my first trip to 2nd and Charles resulted in me buying Illuminae and Carry On. I loved both of these.

These are from my second trip to 2nd and Charles. Aristotle and Dante has been read, currently reading Simon, and the other two will eventually be read lol

My Book Outlet order (minus Beautiful Creatures which I already owned and am currently reading). Dangerous to buy the whole series when I’m not even done reading the first book but hey I’m liking it a lot.

Well, that’s all everyone! I know July has barely started yet I already bought 3 books and I’m still waiting on my signed copies of two others to arrive. I will read all of these at some point lol have a great day everyone!
