There is always that one book from an author you love that you just do not like. This one is it for me. I absolutely LOVED the Splintered series, so I was very excited to get into this one. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work. I actually DNF this book at the halfway point. I loved the writing and characters, but otherwise I just could not get into it. I started it April 30. It is now almost the end of June, and I’m still only halfway done. There was just no motivation for me to pick it up. I will definitely continue to read more from the author because I love her writing. I guess it was just the story that I couldn’t connect to.
