WWW WEDNESDAY 10/9/19

Hello there! Today is Wednesday so it’s time for a WWW Wednesday post. This meme is hosted by Taking on a World Of Words and it asks the questions: What are you currently reading? What have you recently finished? What do you plan on reading next?

What are you currently reading?

Yes I’m actually reading it this time lol Plus I’m struggling with Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I’m enjoying it but I’m having a hard time retaining things. I think I will restart it and tab it. I might make a post about how I tab/annotate books because it varies from book to book or series. If that still doesn’t help, then I will put it down and pick up Red, White, and Royal Blue since it came in off hold on Libby.

Have a great day πŸ’š

WWW WEDNESDAY 9/25/19

Hello everyone πŸ’š I’m here today with another WWW Wednesday hosted by Taking on a World Of Words. In this meme, you answer: What am I currently reading?, What have I recently finished?, and What do I plan to start next? So here we go!

What am I currently reading?

About to start my reread of Splintered!! Annotating it this time around.

Also about to start City of Glass by Cassandra Clare (finally!!) I finished City it Ashes back in March so it’s about time to re-enter the Shadowhunter world.

What have I recently finished?

Least favorite of the series but I still enjoyed it. Plus I really missed Miss Connelly and the Quinn brothers

Also DNF Jack of Thorns. I was really enjoying it up until the halfway point and then it just went downhill from there. I stopped at like 60%. Not continuing on with the series.

This is my most recent finish. As in, I started it early this morning (and I mean early) and finished it a couple hours ago. I just could not put it down.

What do I plan to start next?

Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston is the only book I know I’m starting next because it will be available to me soon on Libby πŸ’š

Have a great day everyone!!

WWW Wednesday

Hello there everyone! Bringing this meme back today. Hopefully I can stay consistent with it. Fingers crossed!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where each Wednesday you answer the follow questions: What I am currently reading, What I have recently finished, and What do I plan to start next.

What I am currently reading

What I have recently finished

What I plan to start next

Have a great day everyone πŸ’š

Edit: I did have 2 DNFs as well but wasn’t sure if they would go in the “recently finished section”. They were The Doctor’s Wife by Elizabeth Brundage and The Kiss Of Deception by Mary E. Pearson.

I have started a bullet journal πŸ““

Hello there! Today I thought I would talk about and show my new bullet journal. I have always wanted to have one, but never knew how to get started or what to do with it. After watching some bookish bullet journal videos on YouTube, I kind of figured out some sort of idea on how to structure mine. Of course, things may change month to month but hey that’s fine by me. So without further ado, let’s get started!

I decided on using the Leuchtturm 1917 dotted journal in Berry. I haven’t put my name in it yet, but I did write the month and year in it so I know when I started it.

I really like the table of contents pages plus I like the fact the pages are numbered. I also like the dual ribbons. I keep one on my table of contents and the other is on my current page.

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for a cover page, so I just went with my blog name in my favorite color and some reading stickers.

I am a proud Slytherin so I had to showcase that lol I also am tracking TV shows, movies, and book series.

This is a year long reading challenge that I am participating in. I didn’t write in the prompts. Once I read a book that fits the prompt, I fill in it. It’s 52 in all and I currently stand at 21/52.

The next page is blog related, but I kind of wanted to keep it to myself so that’s why I’m not showing it. This page, however, is all the books I need to read and review. They are either from Netgalley, BookSirens, or the author themselves. I’m not a big blogger yet so I can’t request popular titles. So I go for ones that interest me and hopefully in turn I can bring that author new readers with my review.

My September title page. I’m still thinking of adding stickers or something but maybe not. The Potions classroom stickers come from the Potions Master planner kit from AMelancholyMoose on Etsy. (The reading stickers and Snape sticker shown earlier also came from this kit.) Plus it’s back to school time for Hogwarts students so I went with a green theme for Mr. Potter’s eyes…and also because I’m a Slytherin lol

The next page was just my calendar for September. This here however is my TBR page for the month. I have the Tiny Decisions app, so what I did was make wheels for each category you see here, and then spin them to see which book I have to read for this month. My reread and TBR Jar picks aren’t apart of that. Of course I chose Splintered as my reread because I want to annotate the series this go around.

My Book Haul page (which will have its first two books added today when they arrive) and my Bookopoly Rolls page for the book club I just recently joined (We Be Book’n) I will hopefully update more on Bookopoly towards the end of the month as part of my wrap up.

Readathon #1 that I’m taking part in is Hogwarts House Battles. I failed at the Newts (and all other readathons last month), so I’m doing things different this time around. I’m just going to read and then decide after the fact what prompt the book fits for. So much less stress on myself. Same goes for the next readathon I’m about to show.

This is all I have so far in my bullet journal. I was going to do a New Releases page, but I haven’t read many of the series that have sequels or later books in the series coming out so I figured I would save that page until next year.

Do any of you have a reading journal or bullet journal? Any tips you can spare for a newbie? Especially when it comes to supplies. Hope you all have a great day!! πŸ’š

Apologies!

Hey everyone. Just wanted to update you all on why I’ve been absent. I hit a small reading bump mid August (thank you A Court of Mist and Fury for giving me a book hangover…will do a full series review once I finish the last two that are out). Also work ramped up so all I wanted to do was sleep after working 12 hr days. Even my off days were spent sleeping or spending money lol now I’m battling a cold smh Fall just had to let me know it was here.

So this is why there has been no content on my blog for a couple weeks. Hopefully I can get some reading done while I’m sick so that I have many reviews to do. Hope all is well with everyone and happy reading!!

Currently reading (also known as Help Me Decide What to Finish) πŸ˜Š

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post this and see if I hold myself accountable lol apparently I have no problem starting a book. Finishing it, however, is the hard part. My mood reading has definitely kicked in hard. I will start a book, get to a good stopping point, and then don’t feel like picking it back up later on. So hopefully you all can help me decide which one to pick back up. So without further ado, here are all the books I’m currently reading.

If all goes well, I’m hoping to finish at least two of these this week. Your help is greatly appreciated!! ❀️

Series, series, and more series

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to talk about book series. I love reading series, but I have a bad habit of starting them and not continuing. It’s not intentional. I just keep finding other series to start or just other books in general. So here are the series that I have started in 2019 (except one that I started back in high school) that I would like to finish or at least make progress in.

  1. Alex Cross by James Patterson started in high school- on book 11
  2. The Others by Anne Bishop book 2 has been started
  3. Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews I’m reading the novellas as well so I have 3.5 to read before starting book 4
  4. The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne on book 4
  5. The Edge by Ilona Andrews on book 3
  6. Saga by Brian K. Vaughan I have no clue what issue I’m on since I’ve read the book bind ups and not the single issues. So I can say I’m on book 2
  7. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas On book 2
  8. Fever by Karen Marie Moning on book 2
  9. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas again…on book 2
  10. The Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini do I need to say I’m on book 2?

The two series I should be finishing soon are the Divergent trilogy (plus Four) by Veronica Roth and the Another series by Daniel and Dina Nayeri (brother and sister writing combo). I’m on the last book of both of these series.

What series do you want to start/continue/finish?? Have you read any of these? Have you recently finished a series? I’m hoping to make progress on at least 3-5 of these. Happy reading πŸ’š

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!

Hello everyone πŸ’š Sorry I have been away for a few days, but work was hectic all weekend. I’m off this week though, and what better way to kick it off than my birthday!! I’m officially 28 today. Today is also my niece’s 1st birthday so I will be with her later today.

Reading wise, I did get 15% in on Appalachian Book of the Dead, and I am so hooked. I need to get back reading The Exalting since I have to have my review up later this month. I’m also in 4 month long readathons that started today so I will be picking up Quests for Glory by Soman Chainani and also The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang. Should be a good reading month for me.

That is all from me at the moment. I hope you have a great day and a great reading month! πŸ’š

My Weekend Reads

Going to try to get a huge chunk of both of these done before the 1st since I’m in so many readathons. They are so different, and I’m crossing my fingers that I can maybe finish one by next weekend. I’m reading both for review: The Exalting it already out (came out in May) and Appalachian Book of the Dead is an ARC that comes out in September ❀️
