Hey everyone! Back again with another WWW Wednesday hosted by Taking on a World Of Words. WWW Wednesday is where you answer the following questions: What are you currently reading? What have you recently finished? What do you plan on reading next? Let’s get into it!
What are you currently reading
I haven’t made any real progress on this since I’ve started it lol read to page 53 the first day I picked it up and never continued. I need to get back to it. I’m also currently reading The Two Towers for Tolkien-along.
What have you recently finished
I’m almost done with this series!! Plus I also finished The Fellowship of the Ring π
What do you plan on reading next
The novella Magic Stars for sure and maybe reread Eragon. Literally have only started one book on my TBR so maybe I should get a move on lol
Hey everyone! I’m back with another First Line Fridays, hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author, or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page.
Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first!
Finally…..reveal the book.
The Magician stood at the edge of his world and took one last look at the city.
Hey everyone! Today we have my October wrap up. This month I read 10 books, 7 new reads and 3 rereads. I once again reached 3,000 pages, finishing the month at 3,208 pages. That has definitely become a goal of mine unintentionally lol so what did I read? Let’s see!
Hey everyone! Back again with another WWW Wednesday hosted by Taking on a World Of Words. WWW Wednesday is where you answer the following questions: What are you currently reading? What have you recently finished? What do you plan on reading next? Let’s get into it!
What are you currently reading?
Also need to finish up The Fellowship of the Ring and start Magic Shifts.
What have you recently finished?
my most recent finish. I’m participating in Tolkien-along but of course I’m behind lol only a little though. I have a little bit left in Fellowship and then I’ll be on track for The Two Towers which is November’s book.
What do you plan on reading next?
Like I mentioned above, I plan on picking up The Two Towers as well as making more progress with the Kate Daniels series (maybe finishing it…who knows). Plus I have my November TBR to get through so I have plenty to chose from.
Hey everyone! Today I am bringing you my September wrap up. I am so happy my reading picked up in August. I missed it so much. With the exception of June and July, I have always managed to read over 3,000 pages. That continued in August with 3,444 and September with 3,132 pages. So what did I read? Let’s find out!
Nevernight 5 stars
Beautiful Chaos (reread)5 stars
Etched in Bone 5 stars
Emerald Blaze 4 stars
Magic Slays 4 stars
Magic Dreams 4 stars
Beautiful Redemption 5 stars
The Midnight Star 4 stars
Gunmetal Magic 3.5 stars
I literally had a series September lol I started one (Nevernight) , finished one (Caster Chronicles), continued two (The Others and Kate Daniels), and read the latest release in another (Hidden Legacy). Apparently after Sept. 18th I just didn’t feel like reading anymore lol my next read wasn’t until the beginning of October. That read was actually a second chance read that I’m kicking myself over because I’m asking myself “whyyyy did you DNF it before it??” Smh
Well that is it for this wrap up! Hope everyone had a great September reading month and I’ll see you Thursday for October’s wrap up. As always, happy reading π
Hey everyone!! I have many wrap ups to catch up on lol I’m going to use November to start fresh on reviews. Plus I don’t really feel comfortable going back to do reviews on books from months ago. So we will start with a brand new month. Wraps up are easier so I will post those this week.
So the summer brought on a big 2-month reading slump. Real life hit me hard and personal in June, especially with the Black Lives Matter movement. It’s what really started my unplanned hiatus. I was just all about family and work. I couldn’t focus on books and I took a much needed social media break. I still haven’t really gone back to them.
I did read one book in June, and that was Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell. I gave it a low 4 stars. I enjoyed it, but it didn’t give me that Carry On did. That being said, I cannot wait until Any Way the Wind Blows comes out next year. I’m even more excited that it comes it shortly after my birthday so what better way to celebrate than with SnowBaz β€οΈπ Also, my blog turned one in June π
July (my birthday month) brought a reread and a new read. I reread Saga Book One because I was supposed to read Book 2 for some readathon I was participating in (I honestly don’t remember lol) but I never did. Aru Shah and the End of Time was just an audiobook I decided to listen to while at work. This also received a low 4 stars from me. Once again, I enjoyed it but it didn’t really grab me and make me want to continue with the series. To this day, I’m still undecided about that.
Now we move to August. Oh boy lol my reading came back full force all thanks to a reread of an adult urban fantasy book. Where I then preceded to basically use all of August for urban fantasy lol the reread was Written in Red by Anne Bishop. It was just what I was in the mood for. I then listened to books 2-5 (work is great for audiobooks) because I needed more of the story. I still have 2 or 3 books left that are published. I’m not sure if the series is finished or not.
I also listened to the final book in Ilona Andrews’ The Edge series, which is Steel’s Edge. As much as I love Ilona Andrews, I feel like this series was their weakest one. To me, it just went downhill every book. One and Two are still the strongest books to me. Speaking of them, I also listened to Magic Bleeds, book 4 in the Kate Daniels series. As well as the Curran POV novella collection. They received 5 and 4 stars respectively. I absolutely LOVE this series. Plus the narrator, Renee Raudman, is one of my favorites.
August also brought: a reread of Darkfever (3 stars….probably not continuing the series), a novella We Can Be Mended (Divergent 3.5….didn’t rate it because it really didn’t bring much to the series), Every Heart a Doorway (5 stars but I’m still on the fence about the series), and a reread of We Set the Dark on Fire (dropped it from 4 stars to 3 but I’m still very excited to finally pick up book 2 since I NEED that closure)
So to bring it all home: June had 1 book read, July had 2, and August had 11. If anyone is curious, no I haven’t slowed down since August lol my main focus has been series (which you will see in September) and books off my shelf.
So that’s my summer 2020 wrap up. Stayed tuned for September’s Wrap Up coming tomorrow. As always, happy reading everyone π
Hello everyone! Today Iβm bringing you a book tag. I first seen this over at Kira Jeanette, and knew I had to do it. I love to reread books. Not only do they help me get out of slumps, but sometimes I just be in the mood for something I know I love or really enjoyed. So without further ado, let’s get into the tag!
A childhood favorite you could read 100 times and still love
The first ever mystery book I read. I still love it and I still get the answer wrong every time lol
A book you DNFED but would be willing to give a second chance to
I want to give this another chance because I feel like I wrongly DNFed it
A newer favorite you would reread
I could reread this entire series over! I’m surprised I haven’t already lol
A book you hated and never want to read again
I absolutely love this series, but this book here was the worst so far. I gave it 2 stars.
A classic you read in school but want to try again
I have to go with Beowulf. It really captured my attention then, and I wonder if it would still hold it today.
An author you would reread anything from
That would be Soman Chainani. No I haven’t finished this series yet lol I’m dragging on reading the last two books because I don’t want it to end π«
A series you want to reread for the fun of it
Mentioned it above. The Illuminae Files is definitely one I want to reread as well as the Caster Chronicles one day
A series you want to reread for an adaptation
I honestly have no idea what’s being made into movies or shows these days so I don’t have an answer for this one
A book you’ve read but want to listen to the audiobook
I actually prefer to read physically while the audiobook is playing. Something about it just brings me into the story. Only time I dont is if it’s a reread or I don’t have the physical book. For those I just listen to the audiobook while at work.
Well this was fun π I love to reread books, but I really need to get to ones on my shelf that I haven’t read lol If you would like to do this tag, feel free! As always, happy reading everyone π
