Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl book review

Now we can begin. Let’s talk book first. I bought this book almost a year ago, and kept putting it in TBRs all throughout the year. I even started it and got 230 pages in before putting it down. I don’t know why I couldn’t not get into it. I think it just wasn’t the right time for me to appreciate it because I was reading for readathon and challenge purposes instead of reading for me. So I made it a priority to be one of the first books I read in January. It turned out to be THE first book of 2020 for me, and I gave it 5 stars.

You all know I’m a character driven person and with so many characters I found myself feeling like I was there in the town with them. I was getting mad for some characters like I knew them personally.

I have to mention the audiobook. Oh my word. It was so immersive. Not only do you have the narrator doing the voices, but there would also be sound effects in the background based on what was happening in the scene (mostly the big scenes). The way he did Amma and the Sisters voices had to be my favorite. I honestly can not wait until I pick up book two.

Have you read this book and/or series? Did you enjoy it or not? Have you seen the movie? I plan on watching the movie soon. As always, happy reading 💚

    1. I forgot there was a graphic novel to it! I just watched the movie for it and they changed a lot. I felt I laughed way more than I should lol I wouldn’t call it bad but also not great whatsoever. Now to fit in the sequel somewhere 😊

  1. After reading your review I definitely have to take a closer look at Beautiful Creatures. The truth is though that I am have the complete collection and it has been sitting on my shelf for I don’t know how many years🙈 But I have seen the movie and enjoyed that fair enough.

    1. I am hoping to get to the movie on Monday 🤞🏽after that I will then move on to book 2. If you do decide to read it, I suggest having the audiobook along with it. I really enjoyed it and will continue that route with the rest of the series.
